I have three units in mind, The first is an edge CS2, the second is a ScanGauge II and the third is the Ultragauge. I really like the Edge CS2 but the cost is a bit high for me right now.

This product is great for people who don't have temperature ... I'm curious as to how the Bully Dog seems to be the only device that can access the mythical transmission temp sensor. Ultragauge and Scanguage are two pretty comprehensive scanners and yet they have no option for that. I also have UpRev software (Cipher) that can access a ton of extra Nissan computer information, including the ABS system, BCM ...

I wish they had come up with a ATF dipstick-plus, which has a temp. sensor at the tip, and you just measure the resistance at the terminals at the other end, and map it to a temperature value, just like the TCM does .

If you upload your vehicle's info, you should be able to download the appropriate gauge from UltraGauge.UltraGauge is both an OBDII Scan Tool and an Information center that displays selectable engine gauges, such as RPM, Speed, Coolant Temperature, Boost, Distance, Fuel Pressure, Mass Air Flow, and more. UltraGauge displays mileage gauges including Instantaneous MPG, Average MPG, gallons per hour, DTE and more. UltraGauge can scan, read and clear trouble codes.

We’ve now got that problem solved. If you upload your vehicle’s info, you should be able to download the appropriate gauge from UltraGauge. The transmission cooler is in one of the radiator end tanks so it is common for the trans fluid temp to be about the same as the water temp. My 14 Acadia usually runs about 197F around town and on highway, and goes up to 208F in slow rush hour traffic. Trans temp is usually within a few degrees of the water temp.Is there any tool that can read "Transmission Temperature" through the OBDII port? Vehicle: 2014 Honda Odyssey. Does anyone know if the UltraGauge MX 1.3 will display the transmission temp on a 2015 5.7L Tundra? I have one that I am using on my Tacoma and was wondering if I can transfer it to my Tundra?July 28 Update – ScanGauge Installation and Review Some time ago I purchased a ScanGauge II for the Crusier after reading about how useful they are especially when regularly towing big loads. It had been sitting on a shelf for some time and I finally managed to get some spare time to put it in. So I've recently put in an Autometer Ultra-Lite 90 degree sweep trans temp gauge mounted on the steering column. The sensor size for it is a 1/8" NPT and I've put it right behind the shift linkage on the driver's side of the transmission.Ultragauge does display mileage. Per trip, instant and average. It says on the web site what it will display. I don't know exactly how accurate it is, I filled up last night with close to a gallon more than it said I used.I also dont understand the difference in the 2 version of the Ultragauge. I really like the Edge CS2 but the cost is a bit high for me right now. I have not completely ruled the Edge out. So I am looking at the Scangauge II ($135) and the Ultragauge ($70).

(Please see additional FAQs below), Only the UltraGauge MX and UltraGauge Blue have the potential to access manufacturer parameters. I use my ultragauge everyday but I do have an ELM327 bluetooth + Android phone to look at my trans. temp if I really need to. It's not what you're looking for but this weekend i'll pack up my ultragauge and just send it in for the upgrade to 1.3 MX and report back in a few weeks time. Make your Trans Fluid Temp display in a 2010 H3T Alpha, using CANSF. The 2010 has the LH9 5.3L V8, 2009 has the LH8. If you go by what ScanGauge lists on their website, it won't work in an Alpha because I believe the code for the I-5. You might get it to read "32". That's not correct. Use the following data code.
