Most radios today have a throttle hold (hold) pitch curve. You should have at the very least, negative 3 degrees at low stick and as much positive pitch at high stick as you can muster. Personally, all of my pitch curves are the same in all flight modes. I have -10 at low stick and +10 at high stick. The first thing I do is set up 4 curves, 2 throttle curves and 2 pitch curves. All channels in deviation go from -100 to +100 for consistency, whereas in many (most?) other TX some are labeled -100 to +100 and some are 0 to +100, even though they spit out the same range of values.

Do you recomend to have the pitch set at 0 degrees at half stick for both normal and idle 1 ? or is it better to have 0 at half stick for idle 1 and 2-3 positive degrees at half stick for normal , considering a throttle curve of 0 ,40 , 70 , 80 , 90 at normal and 90 , 85 , 80 , 85 , 90 at idle1. Some of you guys know my 450 is now up and flying pretty good, I want to ask about these throttle and pitch curves for a beginner When my heli was flybarred I used to do some small 10 feet or so Auto-rotations to land, I was getting quite good at it.

Once again, just like programmable throttle curves, a good computerized RC helicopter radio will show the pitch curve on a graph for the same reasons and have at least 5 setting points – this would be called a 5 point pitch curve. Programmable throttle and pitch curves have caused much confusion, especially for those new to RC helis.
